Decodable Story Booklets

Decodable books only use the sounds a child has already learned, so new readers can sound out every word instead of guessing. Each booklet in this set practices one phonics skill and follows the Science of Reading and the UFLI Foundations scope and sequence. Children make the little book, read it, draw it and talk about it. Then they get to take it home and read it again.

How it works

1. Print the 4 pages of a booklet, one-sided.
2. Cut each sheet in half on the dashed line.
3. Put the pages in order using the numbers in the corner.
4. Staple twice on the left side.
5. Read the words on the cover, then read and draw the story, reread it and talk about it.

Print only the booklets you need. The contents page lists every booklet by skill with its page numbers.
